Anna Silk was the first daughter of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a writer, actor, director, producer as well as a teacher in St. Thomas University). Her father is from Britain, while her mother is a "Turkish English-Cypriot expat." Anna's first memories of attending rehearsals for play as well as watching her mother's working. At the beginning of her career Anna appeared in a number of television commercials. Anna moved to Toronto, Ontario, to pursue her acting. The decade that followed, she eventually made the move into Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting workshop in 2007. They got engaged in 2009. They were married in a civil ceremony that December and renew their vows during the form of a Jewish wedding ceremony held in Fredericton in April 2011, after Anna's conversion to Judaism.
